Co-owner, Renee Carpenter, AAF TMFA, is a Past President of The Allied Florists of Houston, was honored as Outstanding Member of the Year 1999-2000, and received the Buddy Benz Distinguished Service Award in 2006. She currently chairs the following committees for AFH - membership and public relations and serves as the organization's secretary. Your Houston area florist delivers delightful stuffed animals, charming gifts and fresh flowers Renee Carpenter, AAF TMFA, earned the Texas Master Florist designation at the Benz School of Floral Design at Texas A&M University and her advanced designation in 2002. She was the recipient of the Texas Floral Endowment's Allied Florists of Houston 2000 scholarship and the Southern Floral Company's 2007 scholarship, both presented through the Texas Floral Endowment.

Memorial City Florist is an active member of the Allied Florists of Houston, the Texas State Florists Association, The Society of American Florists, The Society for the Advancement of Floral Design. In 2008, Renee received her AAF designation from the Academy of American Floriculture. Renee and her mother, Mary Lou Nix, maintain the Allied Florists of Houston web site. Mary Lou chairs AFH's Internet Committee. Renee also edits the Texas State Florists Association's TMF/TMFA quarterly email newsletter and contributes to the Allied Florist magazine and TSFA Bloomin' Texan magazine.

Memorial City Florist celebrated its 30th year in business in 2005. We currently have three generations of our family involved in our daily operations, so we are truly family owned and operated. Our motto is "Casual elegance with a personal touch". We offer arrangements in traditional and contemporary styles using flowers grown all over the world. It is our philosophy that if we would not be proud to take the arrangement home to our own mothers, then it doesn't leave our shop.
